Set Free, a global nonprofit organization based in South Carolina that rescues children from slavery and provides clean water to rural villages in Africa and India, has added Geoff Wasserman, founder/CEO of The Brand Leader, to its Board of Directors for a 2-year term.
“It’s an honor to serve in this capacity,” said Wasserman. “This group is really one of the exceptional ones; innovative and far-reaching, they have done an incredible job at stewarding resources and saving countless lives in some of the most underserved communities in India, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, sharing God’s love with so many people in need.”
In 2002, Roland Bergeron started Water of Life with a mission to bring clean, drinkable water to places that did not have access to it. Set Free Alliance started in 2011 to rescue, reunite, and care for the enslaved and orphaned children of India. In 2019, Water of Life and Set Free Alliance joined forces to create Set Free, sharing in both missions. In their almost 20 years combined, the Set Free team has provided clean water to over two million people, rescued over 25,000 children from slavery, and planted thousands of churches.
