Zero-Click Search

A zero-click search result is when a user searches something on Google (or another engine), and gets the answer directly on the search results page — no click to a website needed.

Examples:

• You Google “weather in Greenville” and the forecast shows up immediately.
• You type “how tall is the Eiffel Tower” and it just says “984 feet” right there.
• Or you search a brand and see a Knowledge Panel with location, hours, reviews, etc.

Basically, Google’s stealing your thunder (and your clicks), by answering questions up top—via snippets, maps, widgets, or AI Overviews—before anyone has a chance to visit your site.

It’s efficient for users, but brutal for SEO and traffic strategies.
And now with AI Overviews rolling out, the zero-click game is becoming a zero-visit reality for many content creators and brands.
