Rachael likes to joke that she’s pivoted careers at least twice a decade, without ever leaving healthcare.
A trained microbiologist, Rachael Sparks never actually worked in a lab because she knew her calling was communicating about science and health. After a career working in hospitals ensuring safe donations for transplant, she joined a medical device startup that’s now the world’s leading, first FDA-approved UV disinfection system.
In just a handful of years, she helped the technology reach over 800 hospitals in 18 countries. She’s spent over 12 years as either VP of Marketing or CMO for medical device, pharmaceutical, and AI med tech firms, and still loves learning about innovations changing how patients are treated and healed. When a medical device or technology is complex to explain, her favorite challenge is to dive deep into the research, swim around in studies for a few days, and surface with messaging that resonates for each audience.
Having come to marketing after a science-centered education and first career, Rachael loves to see where those waters merge in compelling branding and data-driven marketing. Geeking out over healthcare’s ever-evolving ecosystems as a trusted advisor to Founders, C-Suite, and VP’s of Marketing is something she genuinely enjoys.
