The Brand Leader, a branding agency specializing in strategy and design and headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, was named a Best Place to Work in South Carolina. Now in its sixteenth year, SC Biz News, the market leader in business publishing in South Carolina, created this program in partnership with the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group to identify, recognize, and honor the best employers in the state of South Carolina.
The list of winners included 81 total companies. To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- be a for-profit or not-for-profit business or government entity;
- be a publicly or privately held business;
- have a facility in the state of South Carolina;
- have a minimum of 15 employees working in the state of South Carolina; and
- be in business a minimum of 1 year
Companies from across the state entered the two-part survey process to determine the Best Places to Work in South Carolina. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. The second part consisted of a confidential employee survey to measure the employee experience.
“Winning external awards for our work is an honor, but there’s something very special to us about being a Best Places to Work winner because, due to the award’s inherent anonymous process, it gathers transparent feedback from our entire team,” said Geoff Wasserman, Founder/CEO. “It’s an internal gut check, and a huge benchmark of success for us. As we’ve grown the last 18 months, we challenged our new leadership to make elevating our culture and improving the quality of life for people a top priority, and we believe it’s been the single driving force behind our growth as a firm."
“It’s really a reflection of the culture we tried to create here, and our team's continued commitment to embrace and take ownership of that culture,” said ECD/Agency Director, Kyle Duford. “We believe in growing people, and if we can provide a great work environment, we can achieve that goal.”
The ranked companies will be recognized at an in-person awards ceremony on August 5, 2021, at the Columbia Convention Center. The rankings will be published in the August 2021 issue of SCBIZ magazine.
